The Team in Rome Print

The Tanzania Mission in Rome is both bilateral andmultilateral. Bilateral activities spread across the area of accreditation of this Mission which includes Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovena, Croatia, Greece, Macedonia, Slovenia, Turkey and Serbia and Montenegro. Economic cooperation with and the promotion of economic diplomacy in those countries are the major engagement of this Mission. The Mission promotes Tanzania in our host state, Italy, as well as within those above mentioned as a paradise for both tourists and investors. Contacts with business interests as well as their arrangements have already been initiated with the view to linking them up with similar interests in Tanzania.

The Mission's multilateral activities involve very close working relationship with the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), which has its headquarters in Rome. FAO, apart from activities enumerated in its noble statutes, carries out the fight against hunger in order to reduce poverty. The World Food Programme (WFP) with its headquarters in Rome, is the United Nations front-line agency in the fight against global hunger. The Mission enjoys a close cooperation with this Agency. The Mission enjoys similar relationship with the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) an organisation that champions the fight against rural poverty. All these organisations have various down to earth projects and programmes in Tanzania.

"Team work" is the guiding spirit at this Mission and here below are the members of the team:
